Classic Walnut Locking 2G |
Locking hardwood floors are systems that have a special milled interlocking system built in. They are similar to other floating floors in that they require a sound flat and clean subfloor to work with. Any irregularities can cause the locking mechanisms to malfunction or not lock entirely.
Considering these products are new, there has not been enough time to properly evaluate these systems. Unknown is how they actually perform in relation to moisture level changes that commonly occur with seasonal weather changes.
Try Bruce Lock and Fold wood flooring in a small room first, and make sure you have a dead-level absolutely perfect sub-floor or the product may give you a world of trouble.

Care
Damage resulting from improper care is generally not covered by the warranty. Locking hardwood floors is a beautiful, low maintenance, long-lasting flooring. There are several simple steps that you can take to keep your laminate flooring clean and to ensure that you get many years of service from it. Simply dust mop or vacuum with a soft brush or wood floor accessory to keep your laminate floor clean from dust, dirt or grit.
- Heavy or sharp objects dropped on click lock flooring will dent or crack the hard surface finish on the click lock flooring.
- Heavy furniture or appliances pushed across the click lock flooring can result in gouges and scratches. Click lock flooring is scratch resistant, not scratch proof.
- Rubber casters in lieu of metal or plastic on office chairs will avoid damage to the click lock flooring. Felt pads under furniture legs protect the flooring.
- Place dirt-catching mats at all entrances; the grit tracked in will cause surface scratches. Plastic toys and pets' nails will also scratch the click lock flooring.
- Avoid soaking the click lock flooring with water when cleaning. Excessive moisture invading the joints between the flooring planks can cause delimitation and buckling.
